Hiz Kidz First | Christian Preschool | First Baptist Church of High Springs | "Guiding little feet on a Godly path"

Hiz Kidz First is a ministry of First Baptist Church of High Springs and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

Hiz Kidz First opened in 1978, under the name Early Childhood Education Center or E.C.E.C as the result of a church wide survey that expressed the need for a school within the community. Initially, a committee was formed to research the possibility of opening a Christian private school. After one year of research and prayer the committee determined that the true need was for a preschool. Anna Freeman was the first director from September 1978 to January 1979, followed by Jeannie Preston from January 1979 to June 1979, Sandy Becker 1979-1982, Jenny Cain from 1982-2002, Ruth Lord 2002 to May 2005, and Carrie Tam June 2005 to present. Janice Thomas and Sandy Becker were the first teachers. There were approximately seven children in 1978 and it has now grown to 150 children, ranging in ages from 2-10 years, taught by 19 teachers. In 2004, work began on our new Children’s Ministry Building, and with the facelift to our façade the name was changed as well to a more fitting and playful title—Hiz Kidz First.

Doctrinal Statement: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. We believe there is one God, internally existent in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His Resurrection, His Ascension to the right hand of God, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of condemnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a Godly life.
