There is an additional charge for
children in the two-year-old class.
-
Pacifiers and bottles present problems
in a group setting, as well as being a source that could increase
the spread of germs. For these reasons, we admit only children who
are not dependent on these during the day or at nap time.
-
We ask that you bring a full bag of
diapers and wipes regularly for your child.
-
We ask that a change of clothes and
extra underwear be in your child’s cubby at all times.
-
Please send all foods “ready
to serve” and cut into very small pieces. We cannot microwave
foods. Do not send grapes unless they are cut in half. Our refrigerator
space is limited. Please do not send extra juice. Our children are
encouraged to drink water several times daily.
-
Biting among two-year-olds when they
are in a group setting cannot be avoided. Our staff is constantly
intervening to minimize biting accidents; however, this is impossible
to always prevent. You will receive an incident report if your child
is bitten or if your child bites another child. We ask that you accept
and understand that two-year-olds have not learned to share and biting
is their first response. Persistent biting is dealt with on an individual
basis.
-
Please dress your child in easy to
remove pants or shorts, no belts. Top wear should be layered, rather
than being one heavy item, to accommodate our unpredictable climate.
Leave a lightweight jacket or sweater to be available in your child’s
cubby at all times. Please put your child’s name on jackets
and sweaters.
-
Children attending Hiz Kidz First
should be well enough to participate in all group activities indoors
as well as outdoors. We are unable to provide individualized supervision
due to state regulated staff/child ratio.
-
When your child demonstrates readiness
to begin “potty training,” please discuss this with the
two-year-old teachers. We recommend not using pull-ups as the child
does not feel wet in them. We recommend that you place the child in
training pants, with plastic pants over them. Be sure to send a significant
amount of underwear in your child’s bag.
-
Your child may be moved into
our three-year-old class after he/she demonstrates readiness to succeed
in that environment.
